The product
What is Coursecast?
A web app that turns a document, slide deck or transcript into a draft training course: outline, learning objectives, a narration script for each lesson, key points and knowledge checks. You edit it in the browser and export it. Around it, we're building a platform that keeps courses current as their sources change.
Who is it for?
L&D teams, HR and people-ops, customer-education and enablement teams, and independent trainers who build training from material they already have. It's made for adults (18+) in professional settings.
Do I need an account?
No account is needed during early access.
Does it make audio or video?
Not yet. Today you can preview the narration with your browser's built-in voices and export the scripts to record or voice in your usual tool. Rendered voice-over and slides are next on the roadmap.
Are the workbench and tour screens real?
They're previews of the platform we're building, with fictional data, so you can judge the direction before it ships. Anything marked Roadmap or Illustrative isn't in the current app. The drafting app is real and free.
Quality
How accurate is it?
Coursecast tells Claude to use only your source and to flag gaps instead of inventing content, but AI drafts can still contain mistakes. Every draft is meant to be reviewed by someone who knows the material before it's published.
Can I edit the draft?
Yes. Every title, objective, script, key point, question and answer option is editable, and you can ask Claude to rewrite any single lesson.
How long does a draft take?
Usually one to three minutes, depending on the length of the source and the number of lessons. Lessons appear as they're written.
Does Coursecast give legal, medical or financial advice?
No. Coursecast drafts training material from documents your organization provides, for your own team to review. It doesn't give advice to individuals. If your source covers a regulated topic, such as a compliance policy, your subject-matter expert reviews the draft before it's used.
Files and limits
What can I upload?
PDF, DOCX, PPTX (including speaker notes), TXT, Markdown, and VTT/SRT transcripts, up to 8 MB (PDFs up to 40 pages). You can also paste text. Only upload material you have the rights to use.
What are the limits?
Pasted or extracted text between 200 and 60,000 characters (roughly 25 pages), and 3 drafts per person per day. Lesson rewrites within a draft don't count as new drafts.
What formats can I export?
Word (.docx), Markdown, plain-text narration scripts and JSON. You can also print or save as PDF. SCORM packages for LMS upload are on the roadmap.
Data and privacy
Do you store my documents?
No. Your file is read to make the draft and then discarded, and the draft itself is kept only in your browser. Content is processed through Anthropic's API, which doesn't train models on API data. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
Do you use cookies or analytics?
No. The site sets no cookies and loads no analytics, advertising or third-party scripts or fonts. Your theme choice is remembered in your browser's local storage on your device only.
Do you have SOC 2 or other certifications?
Not yet, and we won't claim any until they're real. See Security & trust.
Pricing
Is it free?
Yes, during early access, with a small number of drafts per person per day. Paid plans for heavier use and teams are planned; see Pricing.
Do I own what I make?
Yes. You own your source material and your drafts, and we don't use them to train AI models.
Can students or children use it?
No. Coursecast is for adults (18+) building training in professional settings, as our Terms say.
