Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Coursecast ("we", "us"), a product of SH, collects when you use this website and the Coursecast app, how we use it, and the choices you have. In short: we don't keep your documents, we don't run ads or third-party trackers, and we don't sell personal data.
1. Documents and text you submit for drafting
- When you draft a course, your file (or pasted text) is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, read, and passed to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate the draft. Your file is discarded when the request finishes; we do not save it.
- The finished draft is sent back to your browser and saved only in your browser's local storage, so you don't lose it if you reload the page. You can remove it with "Discard" in the app or by clearing your browser's site data.
- Anthropic processes this content under its commercial terms, which do not allow API inputs or outputs to be used to train its models. Anthropic may keep API data for a limited period for safety and abuse monitoring, as described in Anthropic's privacy policy.
- Please don't upload sensitive personal data or material you don't have the rights to use.
2. Messages you send us
If you use our contact or early-access form, or email us, we keep your name, email address, company (if given) and message so we can reply and, if you asked, tell you when features open. We don't add you to marketing emails you didn't ask for.
3. Technical data
- Usage limits: to enforce daily drafting limits we store a one-way, salted hash of your IP address with a daily counter. It cannot be turned back into your IP address, and counters are deleted after 30 days.
- Usage log: for each drafting request we log the time, the hashed IP, the file type and size, token counts and whether it succeeded, to watch costs and fix errors. We don't log the content of your document or draft.
- Server logs: our hosting provider keeps standard web server logs (such as IP address, pages requested and browser type) for security and operations.
- No cookies or trackers: this site sets no cookies and loads no analytics, advertising or third-party scripts or fonts.
4. Service providers
We share data only with providers that help us run Coursecast: Anthropic (AI drafting), Hostinger (website hosting) and our email providers (to receive and answer your messages). We never sell your personal data.
5. Retention
Uploaded files: not retained. Drafts: kept only in your browser. Messages to us: kept as long as needed to help you, and deleted on request. Usage counters: 30 days.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email us; we'll respond within 30 days.
7. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, the drafting service is protected against use from other websites, and private data is kept outside the public web folder. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of material incidents as required by law.
8. Children
Coursecast is for adults (18+) in professional settings and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
